Ignorance is so 2006: part 2
Like the Alphas, Betas and Epsilons in Aldous Huxely's Brave New World, we are being taught our job and nothing more. The Evil Henchmen who run the Government don't want to produce people who think independently of course. In order for any non-christian society to run smoothly it needs to be oiled with lies and half - truths, and the real truth must, at any cost, be supressed. 'For the greater happiness of the majority.' Anyone who challenges the order of things must be shut down or terminated before they make havoc with the system. Another way to get rid of thinkers or at least to cut down their numbers, is to teach the new generation not to think.
It's not hard and here's a couple of easy steps to acheive the desired result: 1. Take children out of families in order for the State to own them. To do this, simply take away parental control of children. Parental discipline needs to be done away with, because it's the State's job to administer punishment. Send the children to a State 'school' (prison, but don't tell them that) where they'll get served revisionist history, textbook drivel and lashings of Evolution.
2. When their brain is nicely cooked after years of this conditioning, take them out and put them in the higher level: the State University is just the thing for finishing off these works of art.
After all the years of imbibing the State doctrine, you can pretty much do what you want with them. They are yours, just don't let any airy fairy things like 'religion' or that irritating thing called 'Christianity' get in the way of their nicely indoctrinated brains. If you've done a good job on their minds, you shouldn't have a problem with this. They will know instinctively that 'Christianity' is anti-State, and is therefore the one crime that no true citizen should commit.
I know that this might seem overly harsh, but the fact is that this is where our society seems to be heading. It scares me. But, I need to remember of course, that God holds the Governments, Kings and Queens, in His hand. He is the one who is in control of everything. We can totally rely on Him because He cares for us.
Anyway, our Government's plan is cunning, but simple. They know that thinking is dangerous, so all they have to do is to teach our new generation (me) not to think. Basically, the aim is to keep everyone simple, ignorant, unified, moderately happy, and the result will be Government slaves. Just like 100% tax would be slavery, so a deliberately uninformed mind is slavery. It is a pawn in the Government's game of chess.
God will win it.

Agreed!! "where they'll get served revisionist history, textbook drivel and lashings of Evolution."
That sums up a lot of what we get taught. We are taught that if it is in the textbook it has to be right. And we aren't taught to logically think things through.
A number of my friends who have been in the system all their lives really look at me sideways when I ask questions and try to explain another way of doing or looking at something. It really is quite sad.
I was just wondering what part you think state schools have in society. Because obviously it would be impossible for all parents to teach their children.
hmmm... I'm glad you agree Simeon. I thought that was the part you were going to get stuck into me about! I'm glad that you see the light.. :)
There should be no place for State schools in our country. A State school is one of the most powerful tools our Government has. Sure, our country is supposed to be democratic, but how democratic is it when people can't think for themselves because of governmental indoctrination? Is this country really run democratically, when our minds are being played around with?
I'm not just talking about elections: of course, there's more to democracy than that... at least there's supposed to be. Basically, the Government is 'helping' us to make their decisions. They are letting the people 'rule' but they have already taught them how to think and so they are really just ruling through us.
Anyway, back to the question... no, there shouldn't be State schools. I know, not all parents can homeschool, but in that case the children should be sent to a private school. I don't know how that would work, but I do know that they shouldn't, on any account, be sent to a State school...
;)
Yes I see where you are coming from when you talk about how state schools are one of the Govt's most powerful tools.
But I disagree with you when you say that there should be no place for state schools. People NEED to be educated. Not all people are able to send their children to a private school. Therefore their is a place for the state to step in and help those who can't help themselves.
But where I do agree is that the Govt is using the state education to manipulate peoples thinking.
But the govt also has the power to manipulate what is taught in private schools. They can withdraw licences to teach and also they have the power to close down schools that they don't like.
You make a very valid point where you talk about democracy and education. Education is something which is needed but when in the wrong hands can be used to change society's thinking to what the govt wants.
I don't advocate all children being sent to state schools but I mean parents do need to make the choice and be active in their child's education whether at home, at state school or at a private school to ensure that what their child is being taught is not going against what the parents want them to think.
Entropy and aching, where have we been aiming
Everything is fading out, fading out
We are the faded, splintered and sedated.. I pledge allegiance to a country without borders, without polititians...
Does justice never find you? Do the wicked never loose?... And nothing is okay until the world caves in...
GO SWITCHFOOT!!!!!
In a perfect world we wouldn't need State schools because the Church would sort out the education of any children who couldn't be homeschooled/sent to a private school. The idea of a church educating kids might seem a little strange, but how much better is it for a church to educate children, than for the State to do it?
Back in the good old days, I believe it was more common for the church to get involved in educating kids. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, and I see your point: there would be a lot of problems if we cut out all State schools. I don't think that the elimination of State schools is an impossibility though. I think, if it were thought through, it could work.
When you talk about people NEEDING to be educated... what do you mean by that? I don't believe everyone has to be taught maths and science and history, for example. Sure, it's a good idea if they are, and it's useful to know all that stuff, but it might be more useful in some cases to learn your Dad's trade from him, rather than having 'an education'. It's not like you can't learn it all later.
The thing is, when people talk about 'an education' they're saying that someone has covered the basics, has got through the system. But do we really want our country to produce a whole generation of people who know what they're supposed to know and what everyone else knows?
I'm not saying it's bad for people to do that if they want to, but I think parents shouldn't be looked down on if they don't 'educate' their children in the formal sense.
Because, by teaching a child their dad's trade, it's giving them something that they can go out into the world and actually do and be good at (hopefully), instead of having to go to one of those State Universities for years and years and get a lame certificate at the end.
I agree! As a 6 year old child, I was told by my teacher that I was a useless writer. My mum took me out off school a year later. But it was to late, the damage had already been done. Now, 9 years later I still can't pick up a pen or pencil without being mentally drained. And that is before I even write anything on the paper.
It took me 9 years to realize this and when I did I was rather annoyed at the teacher. They had no right to tell me whether I could right or not! Looking around at the people who used to be my classmates is rather sad. A lot of them really don't care what happens. One girl's goal is to work in a supermarket till she wins lotto!
So I am in complete agreement, Private Schools (or homeschooling) would be better than State schools, hardly anyone likes going to them anyway. (Well that is the case where I live.) The only reason they go is to see there friends, then they skip school for the rest of the day once they have found them!
Anyway that is all I have to say.
Btw, this is the longest thing I have written for absolute ages...
Hi Anonymous, wow, you have a real point there. The same kind of thing happended to my brother when he went to school... He was seven I think, and the teachers told him and mum that he couldn't read. Mum took him out of school and taught him to read herself, of course he could read, he just needed more time.
One of the great things about homeschooling is that you're not expected to try and fit 'the norm', you can be yourself and your curriculum can change around your strengths/weaknesses. As you were saying, these kids get out of school and don't have any direction in life, because they weren't encouraged enough in what they were good at, and were trying to be like everyone else.
God created us all different! One learning style won't fit everyone.
Anyway, thanks for your comments!
Yeah, I tried some writing course, can't remember what it was called... but I reckoned it to be awful! Though at least one person I know liked it! But I'm changing to something else, so hopefully it works! Though I'm sure I'll still be nervous! Now I am sorta just rambling on, so I'll stop. Anyway, thanks for telling me about your brother, I know he can read so it will be a rather big help! ;)
